Alamo is one of the many car hire outfits operating at Stansted airport and their unique selling point appears to be their ability to offer a much wider range of cars than many other car hire companies in the area. Alamo offers the same budget range of cars as National – the Chevrolet Matiz 1.0L, Vauxhall Corsa 1.2L, Skoda Fabia 1.4L and Ford Focus 1.6L but these are all offered at a lower price than National by around £10 per week. However, Alamo can also offer larger cars such as the Skoda Octavia 1.6L saloon, the Vauxhall Zafira people carrier and Ford Mondeo estate car. However, be prepared much higher rates for these specialist cars. People carriers and estate cars can go beyond £300 per week. If you wish, you can even choose to pick up your car at Stansted Airport and drop if off at one of their other city or airport locations in the UK to help make your trip a little bit easier.

Alamo at Stansted Airport is located just off Terminal Road with all the other car hire companies, and giving it great exposure to the main terminal buildings, train station and bus stops. The branch can be accessed with a very short walk from arrivals and makes it an ideally located branch to serve your needs for car hire.

10 Do’s and Do Not’s When Renting a Car in the UK

The following are 10 do’s and do not’s when renting a car in the UK. Notice the first five suggestions are do’s and the last five are do not’s.

1. Do book a car early when renting a car in the UK. Car rental is not an instance where a better bargain can be found upon arrival.

2. Do shop online for the best deal. The internet is the best way to find information for traveling to any location and the car rental companies will put their deals on their web sites.

3. Do compare prices. The travel sites often have better deals than the companies have on their own sites.

4. Do ask for an upgrade when one meets with a car rental agent. Never know what may be available by simply asking.

5. Do read the contract. The car rental companies will pad their profits with surprising penalties and fees.

6. Do not forget to return a car with a full tank. The charge for the rental company to fill it will exorbitant.

7. Do not drive off without looking the car over and noting in the paperwork any damage.

8. Do not overlook the small, independent car rental companies. They will most likely have the cheapest rates.

9. Do not neglect getting a membership in the loyalty program of the car rental company. If nothing else it will keep one abreast of future deals and bargains.

10. Do not let a good car rental go to waste. A vehicle is freedom, make the most of it.
